In 1973, the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) was held in Ottawa and, to her great credit, Queen Elizabeth II would attend just about every one of these bi-annual summits including this one in Ottawa which prompted Canada Post to issue a stamp for the sovereign’s visit.
