This was the final set of four 4-stamp issues to celebrate Canadian folklore. This one features snippets from four different folks songs. Clockwise from the top left, Sc 1491 - "Alberta Homesteader", a comic tune, based on a song from Texas called "The Greer County Bachelor”; Sc 1492 "Les Raftmans”, an Ottawa valley song dating from the latter part of the 19th century; Sc 1494  a children's song of the Kanien'kehaka  people of Quebec entitled "Onkwa:ri tenhanonniahkwe", or "The Bear will Dance", this song is meant to comfort a child until it goes to sleep; Sc 1493:  the Newfoundland dance ditty, "I'se the B'y That Builds the Boat."
